SG Made for Families – Childcare Places I am glad we are increasing the number of childcare places but we also need to consider the timing. Let me share an example. At Yishun Glen, a new Build-To-Order (BTO) estate in Nee Soon East, most of the blocks have been completed and keys have been issued many months ago. But the childcare centre in the estate is still not completed. ECDA has not even announced the anchor operator who will run the centre. ....
Nurses’ Rest Time during Shifts The Leader just told me that I always ask for more and I should ask for less as well. So, I will. Less workload for our nurses. Cat Ownership in HDB Sir, it is the year of the rabbit but it really should be the year of the cat in this House. As a matter of consistency, I am raising the issue of the keeping cats in HDB flats again this year, similar to the last few years. I am speaking up because this policy of not allowing the keeping of cats just does not make any sense, we do not even enforce it and it is not fair.....
Project Wolbachia I am glad that Nee Soon East was one of the pilot sites for Project Wolbachia. I remember walking around the estate with a container of live male mosquitoes to show residents that male mosquitoes do not bite. I am quite sure many residents thought I was crazy and that I have finally really lost it. It was extremely difficult to explain why we were releasing mosquitoes to reduce the mosquito population. It just did not make sense for many residents but they trust that we were doing the right thing and supported this innovative project.....
