Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre (HYC) was officially opened on 30 Nov. Nee Soon GRC MPs Minister K Shanmugam, Er Dr Lee Bee Wah and Henry Kwek attended the opening ceremony. Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre is located at Yishun Central 1, beside the idyllic Yishun Pond. It previously housed the temporary Yishun Polyclinic. Tzu Chi met with Nee Soon GROs on the idea of creating a space specifically for youths, to cater to the needs of the community.....
On 9 August, our National Day, Nee Soon Town Council organised a National Day Parade Live Screening event which attracted 3,000 residents to celebrate together. This is the first time Nee Soon Town Council has organised a live screening of the National Day Parade right in the heartlands. It was held at the hardcourt beside Yishun MRT station, in front of Blk 744. 500 Merdeka Generation Nee Soon residents received their Merdeka Generation Package during an appreciation dinner at Chong Pang Community Club on Sunday (June 2). Nee Soon GRC launched “Never Alone”, Singapore’s first constituency-based cancer support and awareness movement on 27 Jan. In this movement, residents who have survived cancer will befriend and encourage neighbours going through the same journey. This is believed to be the first cancer support and awareness movement in Singapore launched by a GRC ’s community and grassroots, with support from partners. The movement includes 55 “Health Kakis” who are cancer survivors and residents of our GRC.....
