Parliamentary Questions filed by Mr Louis Ng on 12 and 13 September 2022
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Minister for Health (a) whether the Ministry has annual data in the past five years on the average number of times when nurses in public hospitals are rostered for an afternoon shift that ends in the evening and is immediately followed by a morning shift the next day in the (i) general wards and (ii) intensive care units; (b) if so, what are they; and (c) if this data is not available, whether the Ministry intends to collect it and, if not, why not.
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Minister for Education whether the Ministry will remove the quota for each grade under the performance management system of stacked ranking for teachers.
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Minister for Manpower what are the unintended consequences which the Ministry is concerned about as a result of legislating the right to work from home.
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Prime Minister (a) whether studies are undertaken on the effects of increasing childcare leave on a person’s employability; (b) if so, when will the results of the studies be available; and (c) if not, why not.
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what are Singapore’s climate targets that will be announced at the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 in November 2022; and (b) whether the Ministry have held consultations with civil society on the climate targets to be announced and, if so, what are they.
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment whether the Ministry will consider mandating physical barriers to separate smoking and non-smoking areas in coffee shops so as to reduce the impact of secondhand smoke on those not smoking.
Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang: To ask the Minister for Health (a) what plans does the Ministry have to hire more dedicated administrative and support care staff to assist nurses; (b) what is the number of additional staff members the Ministry intends to hire; and (c) what is the time frame for rolling out these plans.
