Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre (HYC) was officially opened on 30 Nov. Nee Soon GRC MPs Minister K Shanmugam, Er Dr Lee Bee Wah and Henry Kwek attended the opening ceremony.

Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre is located at Yishun Central 1, beside the idyllic Yishun Pond. It previously housed the temporary Yishun Polyclinic.
Tzu Chi met with Nee Soon GROs on the idea of creating a space specifically for youths, to cater to the needs of the community. With the support of People’s Association, Tzu Chi leased the area from Singapore Land Authority in 2019 and transformed it into an all-rounded youth centre.

Working with various partners, the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre offers a free study area, as well as co-working spaces, cafes, studios, multi-purpose hall, counselling rooms, wellness classes, sustainable workshops and makerspace.

Together with FutsalArena just next door, Tzu Chi HYC serves the needs of younger residents in Yishun.
The HYC is also part of Yishun’s transformation over the years. It is now the Healthcare Hub for the North, with the brand new polyclinic, many health initiatives and clinics for the elderly and vulnerable, as well as dementia-friendly zones.
There are also new facilities for different groups of residents, like Nee Soon East Waterpark for young families. Northpoint City and Yishun Town Square are always buzzing with activity, and the new Integrated Transport Hub made Nee Soon Central even more vibrant.
There are also improved infrastructures like covered walkways, lifts at overhead bridges, and more to come.
