Nee Soon GRC will gain yet another beautiful water park. Sembawang Hot Spring will be developed into a public park by the end of 2018.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the area to be redeveloped is about an acre in area, significantly bigger than the area that is accessible to the public now.

Sembawang Hot Spring is part of Nee Soon South constituency. Nee Soon South MP Er Dr Lee Bee Wah said, “I visited the area with NParks and discussed possible developments with them last year. I have told NParks some requests, like a toilet, a safe way to enjoy the hot water, and more parking nearby so it does not affect residents’ parking.”
Sembawang Hot Spring is the only natural hot spring on mainland Singapore, and has a storied history. It was discovered around 1908, and water from it has been sold under several brand names like Salina and Seletaris. During the Japanese Occupation, it was turned into a spa for Japanese officers. Since 1985, the hot spring has been administered by MINDEF.
Another new attraction in Nee Soon is the Kampung Kampus by Ground-up Initiative (GUI). The first phase just opened on Feb 18 in the former Bottle Tree Park. There, visitors can experience rustic joys like harvesting vegetables, woodwork and camping.
