    Tips for job-seekers

In an interview broadcast live on local radio station 88.3 Jia FM and Facebook, Nee Soon GRC MP Kwek Hian Chuan Henry shared some tips for job-seekers.

The tips are based on his own experience and speaking to employers:
    1. Forget your qualifications.
All your competitors have the same qualifications, otherwise they wouldn’t be getting interviewed at all!
    2. Be someone the boss would pull an all-nighter with.
Show that you’re reliable, self-starting and a team player.
    3. Research the company and the industry extensively.
You’ll be surprised how few people do this!

Host Eeva Chang and the three young people on the programme, an entrepreneur, a lawyer and a sales professional, agreed that similar attitudes had helped them in their job search. Watch their conversation (in Mandarin) here: https://www.facebook.com/EEva.Show/videos/930166917084153/

Mr Kwek also posted on his Facebook that he is thinking about how government can help job-seekers more.
