Senior citizens in Yishun can now socialise and get healthy at three “wellness kampungs”.

Each kampung consists of a wellness centre and an adjacent eldercare facility. At the wellness centres, residents can learn about healthy living through healthy cooking demonstrations, free health screenings and mass exercise sessions. They can also interact with the seniors at the eldercare facilities, and help them feel less isolated.

Set up by Alexandra Health Systems, St Luke’s Eldercare and Nee Soon Grassroots Organisations, the wellness kampungs are at:
Blk 765 in Nee Soon Central
Block 260 in Nee Soon East and
Block 115 in Chong Pang.

The kampungs opened in March 2016 and are run mainly by residents. They were officially launched on Sep 15 2016 by Nee Soon GRC MP Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim.
