On emission levels, Zero Waste Masterplan

MP Louis Ng’s speech during the debates on MSE’s Budget I have asked several times in this House for the government to disclose data on the top emitters in Singapore. As I mentioned during the climate change motion, Singaporeans increasingly live their lives in a sustainable way. They should be given more information with which to make their consumption decisions. The UK already requires all big companies to include emissions data in their annual reports, and the EU provides large amounts of emissions data on all facilities level across its member states.....

Extending support for local businesses to ride out pandemic

Lifting ComCare recipients out of poverty

MP Carrie Tan’s speech during the debates on MSF’s Budget Although Comcare has helped many low-income persons and challenged families and is a critical social support programs. The number of families helped and the amount spent on Comcare has not reduced, in fact increased, since its inception.  It tells me that Comcare is not getting people out of poverty permanently. This is not a solution built to last. Without capacity-building of families on Comcare, it serves only as a band-aid solution that continues to deplete the country’s financial resources.....
